    • Learning to Respect
    Learn to respect each individual although they seem far away from you or even unreal; but they are real! Imagine how you'd feel if you were in the other person's shoes. Stand up for yourself, but try not to hurt people's feelings.

    • Amiable Mannerism
    This forum is created to provide a platform for all true fish hobbyists to gather together & share your knowledge and experiences. You can choose to not agree, but please do not be offensive. When you communicate here, your words are written. And chances are they are stored somewhere where you have no control over them. In another words, there is a good chance they can come back to haunt you. Everyone is entitled to their say, but do it amiably.

    Exercise Positive Speaking with Responsibility
    You don't have to believe or agree with anyone's opinion here in the forum, you just should be defending your right to do so. Be firm, but fair, level-headed communicator, and patient in your high expectations. Always keep in mind that Free Speech is your Right but Responsible Speech is your Duty.

    • Off-Topic’s Chit Chatting
    Do not engage in off-topic discussion. Respect the Thread Starter’s intended post’s contents and do not derail from it.

    • Vulgarism Language
    Cannot communicate in a vulgarism manners.

    • Insulting
    Act of insulting thru name’s calling.

    • Baseless Accusation/Harassment
    Baseless accusation/harassment to members of the community or Admin/Mods (especially over the rights of enforcements of the Forum's Rules).

    • Inappropriate Action
    Coerce thru posting of Dispute Thread to force another party in fulfillment of a Buy/Sell transaction that had gone bad or bring shame to that party.

    • Inappropriate Religious/Race/Politic Discussion
    Refrain from religious/race discrimination or discussion on sensitive political issues which might cause unrest to our community and/or result in violation of the Laws of the Republic of Singapore.

    • Multiple Nicks/Accounts
    No multiple Nicks. Do not attempt to register for multiple accounts to engage in any unorthodox activities. Members found doing so will be banned immediately without any prior notification or warning.

    • Hijacking/Derailment of Threads
    Hijacking or derailment of threads will not be tolerated and posts doing so will be deleted & seriously dealt with in a case by case situation as deemed fit by Admin/Mods.

    • Instigate Mass Zap/Up Rep Point
    Cannot abuse Rep System by instigating a mass Upz/Down of Rep Points to a particular group of personnel or individual.

    • Exchange Rep Point
    Cannot openly soliciting for exchange of rep point in the forum.

    • Complain Being Zapped
    Cannot openly whining or complaining for being zapped by others in the forum.

    Marketplace Rules (I)

    General Marketplace Rules



    1) All Singapore & AVA of Singapore’s laws & restrictions apply. It is the responsibilities of the users of ArowanaFishTalk.com to oblige to these laws.

    2) In order to streamline the Buy & Sell so as to make clear the intention of trade, kindly select the correct prefix use when you create threads in our marketplace. Prefixes used are as follows:

    :- Want To Buy
    :- Want To Sell
    :- Want To Trade
    :- Free Of Charge
    :- Want To Auction

    [Group Buy]:- Want To Organise Group Buy (*Pending)

    3) Seller must provide below information
    • Pricing
    • Location and timing (for viewing/collection)
    • Picture(s) (Inclusive of FOC items)
    • Condition of the item or livestock
    • Tag number (for selling Asia arowana)
    • Farm name (for selling Asia arowana)

    4) All valid contact numbers posted must be clearly stated in numeric ONLY (alpha-numeric e.g.: 9-seven-six-5 four-three-2-1 is not allowed).

    5) Multiple items on sales are to be listed in a single thread when possible.

    6) Add-on of items (e.g. livestock/equipement/fish food... etc.) on top of the items put up for sale in the 1st Post of the thread are strictly prohibited.

    7) Sales of porno, drugs, firearms, alcoholic drinks / liquors etc are not permitted.

    8) Selling/ buying on behalf is not allowed, with the exception for admin/mod team. This is to prevent unnecessary disputes arising from all parties (e.g. goods not to expectation upon viewing/collection in actual seller’s place).

    9) Cannot post chit-chatting or irrelevant comments in sell/buy or aquatic threads. Do not disturb buy/sell threads.

    10) Members need at least 20 posts & 20 Reputation Points in order to post a new thread in the Hobbyist Marketplace. 1 point to be deducted for every single new thread created (Buy/Sell/Trade/Free/Auction inclusively).

    11) Members with less than 20 reputation points and at least 20 posts are allowed to post a reply in threads created by others but not create new thread in the Marketplace.

    12) Threads posted in wrong section will be deleted without prior warning.

    13) Bump/Upz/Take-To-Top thread are only be done 6 hours after last post or bump.

    Reputation System

    Reputation system is made up of rep point and rep power. It allows the member to moderate each others by using their rep power to give or take away the rep point. Please use your rep power wisely to encourage good contributions and good posts from members.

    R-1:
    New member is automatically allocated with 10 rep points.

    R-2:
    When rep point drops below -50, member’s account will be disabled.

    R-3:
    A minimum of 20 rep points and 20 posts is required to give member a rep power of 1.

    R-4:
    For every 250 rep points accumulated, member will be given one additional rep power.

    R-5:
    Member's rep power is capped at maximum of 8.

    R-6:
    Member can only alter rep point of 1 person once in every 24 hours.

    R-7:
    Member cannot repeatedly alter the rep point of the same person until he/she has altered 100 others.

    Infraction System

    Infraction system is used to manage the misbehave of members. Member infringes the rules and regulations will be given an infraction or warning. Member will be informed via Private Message (PM). Infraction (Red card) carries points and expiry date (points/days). Warning (Yellow card) does not add point to the point total. When the accrued points from active infractions exceeding certain amount, restriction on member rights will be activated. When the accrued points drop below certain amount after expiry of one or more infractions, restriction will be lifted. Members can check their infraction status in their personal profile.

    Level 1 Restriction: (accrues 10 points to 19 points)
    - ban for posting thread in all forums
    - rep power is disabled

    Level 2 Restriction: (accrues 20 points to 29 points)
    - ban for accessing all forums
    - rep power is disabled

    Level 3 Restriction: (accrues 30 points and more)
    - automatic account ban

    Besides infraction points, when member receives 20 infractions (active or expired), his/her account will be disabled.
